What it is and our roles
Endoscopy is the investigation of the Gastrointestinal tract using a flexible camera to see the lining of the gut.
Dr Liz Phillips is the Clinical lead for Bowel Screening at Waikato hospital and has a wealth of experience in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.
Amber is one of New Zealand’s Nurse Endoscopists and thus has in-depth knowledge and experience of all endoscopic procedures.
We Provide Services That Include
- standard upper and lower bowel endoscopy,
- polyp removal,
- oesophageal dilatation,
- variceal banding,
- management of bleeding,
- endoscopic mucosal resection (Large polyps removed endoscopically instead of surgically),
- cancer detection,
- surveillance of Barretts oesophagus,
- familial cancer syndromes, and
- inflammatory bowel disease.
